Biography
Katharine is a partner in and leads Dentons' UK Regulatory and Investigations group. She specialises in contentious regulatory and enforcement work having spent nearly five years as a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) lawyer including working in its General Counsel and Enforcement divisions during the financial crisis. She has been involved in many of the most high profile contentious UK regulatory issues over the past 15 years including Keydata, FX, Libor, swaps mis-selling, Woodford fund collapse, Odey Asset Management. She regularly conducts internal investigations and assists clients in FCA and other regulator and enforcement agency investigations including SFO, PRA and Lloyd's of London. She has a particular interest in governance, conduct and culture and previously chaired an investment industry working group on that topic. She is in the privileged position to act for both public organisations and regulated firms and individuals. Work is often confidential, focusing on achieving a successful outcome on complicated and sensitive matters often with an international dimension. Katharine is listed as a Leading Partner in contentious financial services by Legal 500 and Chambers and described in Legal 500 as "incredibly bright and fearlessly tenacious" and a "regulatory expert' as well as 'great at putting together diverse teams where collaboration is encouraged.’ She was one The Lawyer's 2024 'Hot 100' and in Global Investigation Review's top 100 women in investigations 2025.
