Carlos G Guerrero-Orozco

Biography

Carlos G. Guerrero Orozco is a litigation attorney and consultant based in Mexico City. He is specialized in matters related to governmental development, transparency and accountability, with more than eleven years of experience. Currently he is a partner at López Melih y Estrada, a top Mexican law firm specialized in civil, commercial and administrative litigation, where he leads the anti-corruption litigation (mainly focused on reparation for harms caused as a consequence of acts of corruption) and compliance practice for private sector companies. He is co-founder of Derechos Humanos y Litigio Estratégico Mexicano (D.L.M.), a non-profit that defends human rights in Mexico. Carlos has consulted for the Inter-American Development Bank (Washington, D.C.), for Transparency International (Madrid) and for the Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice (New York) on anticorruption matters. He has been a speaker at the US Congress, International Anti-Corruption Conference, the Paris Peace Forum, the Summit of the Americas, the Center for International Human Rights of the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern University in Chicago, the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung foundation in Germany, among others. He holds a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City) and a master's degree in government and public administration from the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset (Madrid), where he defended the thesis “Reparation of harm suffered as a consequence of acts of corruption in Mexico”.
