Federica D'Alessandra
Biography
Federica D’Alessandra is the Deputy Director of the University of Oxford's Institute for Ethics, Law, and Armed Conflict (ELAC), and Director of the Oxford Programme on International Peace and Security (IPS). She teaches and writes on various matters of public international law and policy, specializing in international human rights, humanitarian, and criminal law, the law on the issue of force, the law on state responsibility, foreign relations, and the law of international organizations. She often also counsels governments and international organizations on matters relating to her expertise. Federica is Co-Chair of the IBA Forum on Government and Public Lawyers, Co-Vice Chair of the Rule of Law Forum, and concomitantly also serves on the latter two Advisory Boards, as well as on the Advisory Council of the IBA Section on Public and Professional Interest (SPPI), as its Representative to the IBAHRI, and as the IBAHRI Representative to the Rule of Law Forum. She has been a three term member on the SPPI Council, and previously also chaired the War Crimes and Human Rights Law Committee.
