Fake news has become a huge concern around the world. The impact of fake information through social networks, internet and messaging applications has made this issue become one of the highest priority matters to tackle in recent years. On the other hand, we have seen that social media is replacing the traditional press, influencing millions around the world. This session will address, from different optics, the impact of fake news in society, democracy and the economy – and the different practical and legal alternatives that deal with this matter.
