Biography

Professional Experience Partner at VK LAW since March 2024. Former partner and head of the International Trade practice group at TozziniFreire Advogados (2011-2024), Vera has more than twenty years of experience in the area, assisting Brazilian and foreign companies in a number of issues related to trade remedies, customs law and trade compliance. Vera advises Brazilian exporters, importers and domestic producers in antidumping investigations and other trade remedies procedures, as well as Brazilian exporters on trade remedies issues abroad. She also represents clients in relevant aspects of structuring import and export operations and their supply chain. Vera has a strong experience with matters related the World Trade Organization, having worked at the Legal Affairs Division of the WTO Secretariat, assisted the Brazilian diplomats in the Brazilian Mission for WTO matters (Geneva) and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Brasilia), and Vera has served as Panelist in a WTO case involving the Antidumping Agreement (DS 578), in 2021. Vera is currently part of the WTO roster of experts able to provide consulting to developing countries. Academic Background -Senior researcher in the Center for the Study of the Geoeconomics of Trade and Investment of FGV-SP - Member of the Board of the ABCI Institute (2024-) - Director of the International Trade Committee of IBRAC (Brazilian Institute of Studies on Competition, Consumer Affairs and International Trade) (2012-2013). - Specialized degree in Business Management from Business School São Paulo, 2007.   - PhD in International Law from USP (Universidade de São Paulo), 2004.   - Master’s degree in International Economic Law from the Université de Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne, France, 2002.   - Graduate of the Law School of USP, 1998 Recognition Vera and its practice have been recommended for the past 18 years by relevant legal guides, such as Chambers Global, Chambers Latin America, The Legal 500, Leaders League, Latin Lawyer 250, Who’s Who Legal, Análise Advocacia 500, Análise Advocacia Mulher, Análise Advocacia Regional, and Women in Business Law guide.
