Biography

Rick is Director, AI Solution Architecture at Epiq Global, where he advises law firms and in-house legal departments on their AI strategy and buildout. Sitting at the intersection of product design, workflow engineering, and change management, he works with clients to assess where AI creates real value in their practice, select the right tools in a vendor-neutral capacity across the legal AI landscape, and design an operating model that outlasts any single tool. His focus is not just on what AI can do, but on how it changes a team's system of work: how decisions get made, how juniors learn, and how standards are enforced. He was formerly at Harvey, the legal AI platform used by the AmLaw 100 and major global corporations, where he led go-to-market efforts across the APAC and global in-house verticals. He joined Harvey as an early employee and was one of the first former practicing lawyers on the team. Before Harvey, Rick spent 13 years in legal practice. He was a white collar defense and securities litigation attorney at Morrison & Foerster and Perkins Coie. He then moved in-house, serving as APAC Investigations Counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Singapore, where he led cross-border internal investigations and engaged with regulators across the Asia-Pacific region. He later joined Coupang in Korea, where he provided compliance counsel to company leadership and built the first iteration of Coupang's compliance framework outside Korea. Rick holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a BS from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
