Jonathan Jacques Clovin

Biography

Jonathan Clovin is Vice President and Head of Legal at Qubika, an international digital services group providing custom software solutions to U.S. clients from across Latin America (Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico), with the strategic backing of private equity fund Recognize. As General Counsel, he leads the group’s global legal strategy, overseeing M&A, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, complex cross-border contracting and labor matters. He was previously an associate and later counsel at Guyer & Regules, where he was part of the Competition and Corporate/Banking practice. He began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Brussels, focusing on antitrust matters, and subsequently served as a case handler at the European Commission (DG Competition), working on merger control cases. He is admitted to the New York Bar and holds degrees from King’s College London, the École de Droit de la Sorbonne, Georgetown University and Sciences Po (Paris). In addition to his corporate role, he teaches Competition Law, acts as expert counsel in selected antitrust matters, and has authored academic articles and book chapters on competition law in Uruguay and in comparative contexts. A French national living in Uruguay, he is the father of two children.
