Biography

Lord Moraes (Claude Moraes) has been a member of the UK House of Lords since 2025, when he was appointed to the Government as a Whip. He is currently a member of the Justice & Home Affairs Select Committee. He was previously a Member of the European Parliament where he chaired the Civil Liberties, Justice & Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) a legislative committee which covered migration, data protection/tech regulation , legal affairs, security and the rule of law.
