Biography

I spent 14 years as a practicing lawyer, first in BigLaw and then in-house roles across Asia, handling white collar matters, internal investigations, securities litigation, and helping companies build compliance structures from the ground up. What I learned over that time is simple. Legal work is not just drafting. It is judgment. And judgment is shaped by how lawyers learn, how they train, and how work actually moves inside an organization. Now, at Harvey, I focus on the intersection of AI and legal operations. Not as a magic button, but as an operating system that exposes the gaps in how legal teams work and the gaps in how lawyers are trained. My writing is an attempt to document that shift in real time. How the apprenticeship model is changing. What intentional training looks like. How in-house teams adapt. And what the next generation of lawyers will need once the volume work disappears. If you work in legal, AI, or anywhere judgment matters, I hope this work helps you see where the profession is heading. Father of three boys under 8 (my other full-time negotiation role).
