Alastair Henderson
Biography
Alastair Henderson is a partner in Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer's international arbitration practice. He has been based in Southeast Asia for more than 25 years including nine in Bangkok and sixteen in Singapore. He is recognised as one of Singapore's 'arbitration elite' (Chambers Asia-Pacific) and a member of the 'international arbitration hall of fame' (Legal 500 Asia-Pacific). 'Alastair is one of the guys who developed arbitration in Singapore in a big way' (Chambers Asia-Pacific). Alastair's expertise covers many sectors including construction, engineering and infrastructure; energy and natural resources; M&A, shareholder and JV disputes; and a wide range of commercial, trading and investment disputes. As counsel and as an experienced arbitrator, he handles cases under major rules including SIAC, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, AIAC and UNCITRAL; ad hoc cases; and other rules including SIArb, VIAC (Vietnam), Thai Arbitration Institute and Indonesian National Arbitration Institute (BANI).
