Biography

Kekst CNC was the first international strategic communications consultancy setting up an office in Japan back in 2004. Between 2021 and 2025, Kekst CNC has advised on more Japan related M&A deals than any other PR advisor. Dr. Jochen Legewie has been heading the Tokyo office since its start. His works focusses on advising Japanese and foreign corporations on complex positioning issues. He has advised on more than 100 Japan-related transactions and is ranked as Japan’s top financial PR advisor by Mergermarket. Prior to joining Kekst CNC, Jochen was Head of Communications at Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, and Vice Director of the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo. He also worked at Keidanren and as a freelance journalist. Since 2007, he has been one of the few foreign trustees of Keizai Doyukai (Japanese Association of Corporate Executives). Jochen studied at Hitotsubashi University and holds a masters and PhD (summa cum laude) in Economics from the University of Cologne.
