Meluleki Nzimande
Biography
Meluleki is an expert in international trade and investment law, advising across sectors like steel, poultry, chemicals, and electronics. He has led investigations into customs duties, anti-dumping, and trade remedies under South African and WTO law, including agreements like the EU-SADC EPA. He also advises on mergers, anti-corruption, and commercial law. As former Chief Commissioner of ITAC, he helped negotiate sector masterplans, including for sugar and textiles, and introduced export taxes on scrap metal. A Fellow of the Vance Institute, he worked at Skadden Arps in New York. He’s a former assistant editor of the South African Journal on Human Rights, an external examiner at Wits Law School, and held roles with the National Democratic Lawyers Association, the British Institute of International Comparative Law, and the New York City Bar’s African Affairs Committee. Meluleki is the Chairman of ProBono.Org.
