Dorothee Fischer-Appelt
Biography
Dorothee Fischer-Appelt is a New York and English-qualified partner at Greenberg Traurig LLP's London office with more than 25 years' experience in international equity and debt capital markets transactions. She represents companies, financial institutions and selling shareholders in connection with international equity and debt capital markets transactions, including IPOs, secondary equity offerings, structured equity offerings, convertibles, warrants, block trades, high yield offerings, Rule 144A debt offerings and liability management transactions and related restructuring transactions, including exchange offers and consent solicitations. She also has experience advising foreign listed issuers in the U.S., including de-SPACed companies. In addition, she advises large institutional investors on U.S. private placements of notes. Dorothee practiced with a leading firm in New York from 1997-2003 before re-locating to London and worked on numerous SEC-registered equity and debt offerings during that time and counselled several large U.S. companies on their ongoing reporting obligations. Dorothee is recognised as a Leading Individual in Equity Capital Markets and a Recognised Practitioner in Debt Capital Markets by The Legal 500 UK 2024 as well as in Best Lawyers in the UK 2025 for work in Capital Markets Law. Dorothee has published numerous articles on U.S. securities law topics as well as EU capital markets topics and is a frequent speaker. She also co-chaired the annual London Capital markets conference "Capital Markets in the 21st Century" for 10 years.
