Enyinnaya Uwadi

Biography

Enyinnaya Uwadi is a Commonwealth Doctoral Scholar in Competition Law at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom. He also works in the Merger Remedies Team of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), based in London. Enyinnaya has gained professional experience across Nigeria and the United Kingdom, holding previous roles at Hogan Lovells International LLP, Concurrences, Nationwide Building Society, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. Recognised as one of the rising stars of African competition law, he has consulted for both local and international clients and authored several publications in leading international journals. Notably, three of his articles were shortlisted for the Antitrust Writing Awards in 2020 and 2022. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the UK Centre for Competition Policy, the ABA Section of Antitrust Law, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Enyinnaya’s academic achievements have earned him multiple awards and recognitions, including the Commonwealth PhD Scholarship, a PhD Studentship from the University of East Anglia, the Roehampton University International Excellence Scholarship, and the Niger Delta Development Commission Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship. He holds an LLM (Distinction) in Competition Law from the University of Reading, an LLM (Distinction) in Energy Law from the University of Ibadan, and an MBA (Distinction) from Roehampton Business School.
