Hao Wu

Biography

Hao Wu is a partner at Han Kun Law Offices in Shanghai, focusing on international tax, cross-border tax compliance, tax dispute resolution and private wealth planning. Hao advises multinational companies, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals and families on complex domestic and cross-border tax matters. Her practice covers outbound investment and cross-border structuring, tax treaty application, international tax planning, transfer pricing, OECD Pillar Two, tax residency, CRS/FATCA, controlled foreign company (CFC) rules and anti-avoidance matters. She also represents clients in tax audits and investigations and in tax administrative reconsideration and litigation. In private wealth planning, Hao advises high-net-worth individuals and families on asset protection, wealth succession, global mobility and tax compliance. She has extensive experience in family trust matters and has been involved in the establishment, restructuring and governance of hundreds of family trusts. Her experience covers the full lifecycle of family trusts, including structuring, ongoing administration, restructuring and termination, as well as tax analysis and risk management. She also acts as legal and tax advisor to offshore trust companies and family offices. Hao serves as a China National Reporter for the IBA Tax Committee. She has spoken at IBA and other international tax conferences and contributes to international tax publications and country reports. Her clients include leading companies in the technology, financial services and consumer sectors, as well as high-net-worth individuals and families with complex cross-border tax and wealth planning needs.
