Biography

Jurjen Lemstra co-founded Lemstra Van der Korst in 2010. Lemstra Van der Korst is a top-tier disputes firm in the Netherlands, and a market leader in the field of mass claims litigation and settlement (plaintiff side) in the Netherlands. Jurjen co-heads the firm’s class action practice. He is the co-author of the Dutch Claim Code and litigates and advises on collective settlements (WCAM) and proceedings regarding collective action claims (WAMCA). Jurjen is also active in the field of corporate and commercial litigation and has vast experience representing clients in proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and in public tender cases. He advises and litigates on behalf of financial institutions on matters of liability for financial products, duty of care and the positions of financial supervisors. He also advises shareholders and both executive and non-executive board members in cases of corporate governance and personal liability risks in and outside bankruptcy situations. Before co-founding Lemstra Van der Korst, he worked at Pels Rijcken for over 20 years and headed the Corporate Law practice group at Pels Rijcken for six years.
