Biography

Gerrit is a partner in Hengeler Mueller's financial regulatory practice providing comprehensive regulatory advice for clients from the financial sector, in particular credit institutions and investment firms, payment service providers, insurance companies, asset managers, and financial investors. A focus of his practice is advising on regulatory issues of strategic importance, particularly in complex restructurings, (cross‑border) M&A and portfolio transactions. In addition, Gerrit represents his clients in licensing, shareholder control, and other regulatory proceedings before ECB, BaFin, and the Deutsche Bundesbank.
