Biography

Steven Noë is a Member of the Legal Service of the European Commission, working in the team responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security, Private Law, and Criminal Law. He has more than 20 years of experience in providing legal advice to the Commission and representing that institution in court, having appeared in more than 450 cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union. His current practice focuses on judicial cooperation in civil matters, and he has worked on many cases concerning the interpretation of the Brussels I Regulation and the Brussels I bis Regulation. He also has extensive experience in competition law and State aid. Prior to joining the Commission, Steven worked for 7 years as a lawyer for the Dutch law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.
