Biography

James Board is a Partner in Simpson Thacher's London Funds team and advises on the structuring, establishment and operation of a wide variety of funds across a range of asset classes, including private credit, private equity, infrastructure and secondaries, and co-founded and co-leads the STB European evergreen private wealth funds practice. James has represented such leading international fund sponsors as Apollo, Ares, Blackstone, Bridgepoint, Coller Capital, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, CVC, Franklin Templeton, Hamilton Lane, Hg Capital, KKR, Pantheon Ventures, Sound Point and Stonepeak. Named a “Rising Star” by Private Debt Investor and Euromoney LMG, James is also a recognized thought leader in the funds space, having co-authored a number of articles for publications such as Private Equity International and IFLR. In addition, James has been recognized as a key player by The Legal 500 for his work on private funds.
