Biography
Ruth Bloch-Riemer’s practice focuses on domestic and international tax law.
She regularly advises Swiss and foreign (ultra) high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs, (ultra) high net worth families and family offices in all taxation matters. In particular, she supports clients with regard to wealth and succession planning and structuring, the structuring of charitable contributions, questions in the context of the taxation of art and artists, and questions within the field of the domestic and international structuring and coordination of their compensation, pension and social security. Due to her PhD in international tax law, her client base includes many families i.a. with a nexus to the US, the UK, European jurisdictions and the Middle East.
In her areas of practice, Ruth Bloch-Riemer supports clients both in the context of compliance work and non- contentious procedures (incl. tax rulings) as well as in the context of litigation vis-à-vis domestic administrative and judicial authorities.
Ruth Bloch-Riemer regularly publishes and speaks at conferences on tax and social security matters, e.g.. within the University of Zurich‘s LLM program on international tax law. She is a certified tax expert, TEP and serves as examination expert within the certified tax expert diploma process.
Ruth Bloch-Riemer is newly ranked in Chambers Global 2025 and is listed in Band 3 in Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) 2024. She is also acknowledged by Legal 500 2024 as a 'Next Generation Partner.' Furthermore, Ruth was awarded Gold as 'Lawyer of the Year, Switzerland' at the IFC Awards 2023 as well as the Rising Star Award 2019 by Euromoney Legal Media Group and listed as a Rising Star in Tax in the Legal Media Group's Expert Guides 2021 and 2022.
