Joanie Zhang

Biography

Joanie Zhang is a senior partner at Beijing Dacheng Law Offices in Zhuhai, China. Joanie Zhang received her LL. B from Shantou University and has been practicing law since 1994. With 30 years of legal experience, Joanie has extensive expertise in anti-fraud investigations, particularly in managing complex cross-border cases for multinational corporations. Joanie have led numerous internal investigations involving employee fraud, skillfully navigating the legal challenges in China, where evidence collection is often restricted by limitations on private investigators. Joanie’s involvement spans the entire process—from the pre-investigation phase through to litigation and employee dismissals—helping clients recover losses while ensuring compliance. In high-profile cases for major foreign-funded enterprises in China, Joanie has leveraged her knowledge of both criminal and civil law to develop effective strategies that address fraud while safeguarding clients’ reputations. Joanie has been recognized as a “Leading Foreign-Related Lawyer in Guangdong Province” and named among the “Top 1000 Foreign-Related Lawyers in China.” Additionally, Joanie has also been recommended by The Legal 500 China rankings for Labor & Employment in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2025, and by Chambers and Partners for Corporate/Commercial: Guangdong: Contentious (PRC Firms) in both 2024 and 2025.
