Biography

President of Unidroit, Maria Chiara holds a degree in law and one in economics by the Alma Mater Studiorum (Bologna, Italy)a LLM from Harvard and a PhD from the European University Institute in Badia Fiesolana (Italy). She has a Chair of international law at Catholic University (Italy) and is of counsel at PedersoliGattai (Italy). In the past, she was legal assistant at the European Court of Justice and senior expert at the European Central Bank. She currently plays also as an arbitrator in both commercial and investment arbitration and has defended the Republic of Italy in all investment arbitration proceedings so far.
