Biography

Alexander Vandenbergen is a founding Partner of Lydian. He co-heads the employment law team and leads the firm's Pensions & Benefits team. With over 30 years of experience, he has established himself as an expert in employment and pension law. His practice encompasses a wide range of areas within these fields. Alexander focuses on collective employment law issues, with a particular emphasis on the employment law aspects of large corporate reorganizations. He also handles specialized projects related to pensions, such as restructuring or winding down pension schemes, complex litigation, and compliance matters. Alexander is a member of the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers' Association (IPEBLA), of the European Employment Lawyers' Association (EELA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). Moreover, he is founding member of the Belgian Association of Pension Lawyers (BePLA), where he seats in the Opinion Committee. Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers in Belgium as well as Who’s Who Legal mention Alexander as a reference in his focus area. Alexander is a member of the Dutch Brussels bar.
