Shiva Amiri

Biography

Shiva Amiri is a Toronto-based Barrister, Solicitor, and Notary Public at Amiri Law Firm P.C., with a passion for advocacy, human rights, and environmental protection. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Amiri serves as the Website Officer for the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Law Committee and has worked as a Climate Change news writer and editor for the United Nations, demonstrating her commitment to environmental rights and human rights. Ms. Amiri is a certified U.S. Human Rights Consultant, a member of Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights, and an active participant in Amnesty International. She has engaged in several international advocacy forums, including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Universal Periodic Review, where she has consistently championed human rights and environmental protection. She pursued her undergraduate studies in Sociology and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Toronto, where she was an honours student and a research assistant. She then completed her legal education at Bond University in Australia and Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, equipping her with a well-rounded expertise and comprehensive knowledge as a legal practitioner.
