Biography

I became a partner in the Jersey office of Mourant in October 2002, and am currently a Co-Leader of the firm's global funds practice. I have extensive experience in investment funds, real estate investment and structured finance. My practice now focuses on the formation, operation and financing of private equity, venture capital, credit, debt and real estate funds and investment structures. I regularly advise fund promoters, managers, investors, directors and service providers across that wide variety of asset classes. I trained at Charles Russell Speechly in London, where I qualified as an English solicitor in 1996, before joining Mourant in Jersey in 1997 and re-qualifying as a Jersey solicitor in 2000. I'm a former Chairman and committee member of the Jersey Funds Association and I currently sit on the BVCA's Channel Islands committee and UK AREF's Public Affairs committee. Over the years I've been an active participant in industry working groups, across a range of key regulatory and tax issues, including Jersey's AIFMD, Private Fund, Economic Substance, UK CGT and Pillar II working groups.
