Biography

Ray Xu is a partner in the Investment Funds Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He focuses his practice on advising private fund sponsors on the formation, marketing and management of investment products. He has counseled sponsors on legal, compliance and governance matters, internal economic arrangements, strategic and operational matters including co-investment arrangements and strategic transactions, product line expansion and succession planning. Additionally, he has advised sponsors on minority investment transactions, continuation funds, other liquidity events and seeding arrangements. In addition to representing well-established sponsors in prominent global fundraisings, Ray has significant experience in working with early stage sponsors in all aspects of establishing their operations and raising capital.
