Biography

Filipe Lowndes Marques is a partner at Morais Leitão, heading the banking and finance department and a member of the board of the firm. Vastly experienced in project finance, he has worked on all kinds of projects since 1995, including bridges, highways, power plants, mini-hydros, wind and solar farms, football stadia, hospitals, LNG terminals, fiber optic networks and natural gas concessions. His practice is also significant in the area of loan and bond finance and in the field of capital markets, having advised on several securitization transactions (including the first securitization transaction under the new law and the first synthetic securitization), covered bonds issuances and worked on several IPOs of state owned companies. Filipe holds a Law Degree from the Católica Lisbon School of Law and a Magister Juris in European and Comparative Law from Oxford University. He is a member of the Portuguese bar and is a non-practising Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales.
