Biography

Ben Rowse is a partner of Nardello & Co. and is its Asia-Pacific Regional Head. Currently based in Tokyo, Ben has lived and worked in Asia for more than 23 years, both as a foreign correspondent and as a senior investigator with international consultancies. Ben specializes in helping clients identify and understand the business, political, and cultural risks they may face when doing business in Asia. He has particular expertise in political risk and complex intelligence-led investigations that involve corruption, breaches of trade sanctions, and organized crime. Prior to joining Nardello & Co., Ben was a director in a ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm’s forensic practice in Hong Kong, where he founded and led its business intelligence team focused on Greater China. A Southeast Asia specialist, Ben began his career in Asia as a regional correspondent for Agence France-Presse, a role that included a lengthy stint as the news agency’s deputy bureau chief in Hanoi covering Vietnam and Laos. He covered the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the Gulf War in 2003, and the 2004 Asian tsunami disaster, among other world events. Prior to AFP, Ben worked for an international human rights organization in London.
