Biography

Christy Brook is the General Counsel of Emerson Collective. In her role, she advises on all legal matters within Emerson Collective and manages the legal team. During college, she transferred from Fordham University to the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her B.A. in Philosophy and a Certificate in India Studies. She then spent time designing educational programs with nonprofit organizations that fight against human trafficking in India, after which she went to law school and graduated summa cum laude from New York Law School. She began her legal career at Cleary Gottlieb in New York City, working in the private clients and private equity/fund formation groups, where she represented high net worth individuals in estate planning matters, fund sponsors, biotechnology and cleantech funds, as well as nonprofit organizations in a vast array of pro bono matters. Christy moved to the Bay Area in 2015 seeking to learn more about the venture investing space – she worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, where she represented Emerson Collective in a number of corporate transactions. She joined Emerson in 2017.
