Biography

Dr. Stefan Weidert, LL.M. is Head of the IP / Tech practice at Gleiss Lutz, one of the leading independent law firms in Germany. He provides counsel and representation to clients in complex ICT projects, including outsourcings, carve-outs,large-scale implementations, and procurement initiatives. His expertise extends further to data protection and security, e-commerce, the digital economy, licensing matters, and the resolution of troubled ICT projects. He is well-versed in advising on numerous technology sector transactions, with a current emphasis on AI, data-related issues (such as the Data Act, DSA, and IoT), and cybersecurity. Stefan is both a certified intellectual property law attorney and a certified information technology law attorney. His leadership roles include co-chairing the IBA's Technology Law Committee in in 2013 and 2014, and he continues to be an active member of its Advisory Board. He is acknowledged as one of the leading IT and data law attorneys in Germany as reflected in various national and international rankings
