Carli Schickerling

Biography

Carli Schickerling graduated from the University of Stellenbosch (Stell) with a Degree of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2005. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of Namibia in April 2007 and has almost 16 years’ experience in all fields of legal practice. She has vast experience in litigation in the Lower Courts, High Court and Supreme Court of Namibia and her field of expertise includes family law, general civil litigation, immigration and human rights law. She was accredited as Mediator of the High Court of Namibia during 2015. She is a member of the Law Society of Namibia and has served as the Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of the Law Society for 2017 and 2018, was a member on both the Ethics and Investigations Committee and the Child, Gender and Family Law Committee until 2021. From 2021 to March 2023, she served as one of 5 members of the Disciplinary Committee of Legal Practitioners, appointed by the Minister of Justice. She continuous to actively represent marginalized members of the community in the pursuit of equality for all and legal recognition and protection for all members of the Namibian Society.
