Biography
Tahmina Watson is an award-winning, nationally acclaimed US immigration attorney and founder of Watson Immigration Law in Seattle, Washington, USA. Her practice focuses on business immigration with a focus on startups and founders. She handles all employment-based visas such as L1A, H1B, O1, E2, EB5 etc. Her clients include individuals and businesses from all over the world.
Tahmina was a barrister in London, UK, before immigrating to America herself. Her latest award-winning and best-selling book “The Startup Visa: U.S Immigration Visa Guide for Startups and Founders,” was published in July 2023.
Her Startup Visa series includes her podcast- The Startup Visa.
She is also the founder of The Washington Immigrant Defense Network (WIDEN), which funds and facilitates legal representation in the immigration courtroom, and co-founder of Airport Lawyers, which provided critical services during the early travel bans in 2017.
She is the Immediate Past President of the King County Bar Association in Washinton State, the Chair of the Response Committee for AILA-Washington, and a past National Spokesperson for AILA. Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Council of Lawyers for Good Government.
Tahmina is a columnist with Above the Law and a media commentator on immigration issues. She has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, NPR, Bloomberg, and more. Among her various awards and recognitions, she is a Puget Sound Business Journal Women of Influence Honoree, AILA President Commendation, and WSBA APEX Norm Maleng Leadership Awardee.
