Biography

Cara Friedlander is a Managing Director and Head of Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement, and Employment Law at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in New York. She oversees all litigation, enforcement, and employment law matters for the Americas Division, which includes the U.S., Latam, and Canada. Her experience includes defending the firm in securities, commercial, employment, capital markets, contract, and criminal litigation, as well as DOJ, SEC, CFTC, FRB, and DOL investigations. Prior to joining SMBC, Cara practiced at Winston & Strawn LLP. She received a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from GW Law.
