Biography

Giuseppe De Simone is Co-Head of the Banking & Finance Department at Gianni & Origoni. He has a long, consolidated and extensive experience in all the areas of banking & finance law. He assists domestic and international investment banks, private equity funds and companies in domestic and cross-border transactions in all fields of banking & finance, with specific focus on financing matters (including acquisition financing, real estate financing and IPO financing), restructuring transactions (including debt restructuring and assistance in the preparation of the relevant restructuring plans), structured finance and NPLs transactions. In 2019, in the context of the TopLegal Industry Awards, Giuseppe was awarded “Lawyer of the Year - Banking”. Before joining the firm, Giuseppe specialised in corporate finance and gained significant experience working at primary Italian banks and companies and at leading Italian law firm. He has also worked in the London office of Gianni & Origoni. He graduated in Law in 2000 from the University LUISS Guido Carli in Rome. Giuseppe is currently adjunct professor (professore a contratto) at the Università degli studi LUM "Jean Monnet” (“Economia e management” faculty), for the degree course in “Corporate Finance Law". He is often a speaker at conferences and seminars on banking and finance. He is a member of the Italian Bar since 2003. He speaks Italian and English.
