Biography
Jonathan heads our Corporate Crime & Investigations and Compliance practice in Europe, Middle East & Africa, specializing in white collar crime litigation, investigations and compliance. His practice also covers crisis management and international sanctions.
Jonathan is a criminal litigator who defends large corporates and their management in complex criminal enforcement actions before the French authorities and Courts.
He also conducts internal investigations and advises on issues such as corruption, money laundering, fraud, cyber criminality, market abuse and embargoes.
He has worked in both London and Hong Kong. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills, he worked with a leading US firm in New York.
Jonathan acts for French and foreign companies doing business in a broad range of jurisdictions across the world. He has advised clients across numerous industry sectors, including consumer goods, health/pharmaceuticals, energy, banking, construction, engineering, industrials and natural resources.
He has been named among the 40 best corporate investigations lawyers in the World, under 40, by the Global Investigations Review, and among the top 50 lawyers in France with greatest experience in Africa by "Jeune Afrique".
He has taught criminal law and criminal procedure at Paris 2 University. He currently teaches at SciencesPo Paris and is also a regular speaker on CCI issues at various national and international seminars.
Jonathan is also Co-Chair of the International Bar Association's (IBA) Business Crime Committee.
Jonathan is admitted in Paris and speaks fluent French and English.
