Bayartsetseg Jigmiddash

Biography

Bayartsetseg Jigmiddash is the Manager of the Independent Integrity Unit at the Green Climate Fund, the world’s largest multilateral climate fund, implementing vehicle of the Paris Agreement. She brings extensive experience in senior government roles, having served as Secretary of State for Mongolia’s Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs from 2012 to 2016, where she led key legal reforms and policy initiatives. Prior to this, she served as Legal Advisor to the President of Mongolia, where she led efforts on judicial reform, and has also worked extensively with international NGOs on human rights and development including American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative and Open Society Institute. She also serves as the Secretary of the Debarment & Exclusions Subcommittee,IBA Anticorruption Committee. A lawyer by training, Bayartsetseg holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and Mongolian State University. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013, she has received several prestigious fellowships, including a fellow at Yale Law School, Jackson Institute for International Affairs, a Public Interest Fellow at Columbia Law School, a Policy Leader Fellow at the European University Institute, and the Karpatkin Policy Fellow at Consumers Union in Washington, DC.
