Biography
Mariana Norton dos Reis is a membership officer of the IBA Women Lawyer's Committee and is the Co-Head of the Corporate M&A practice at Cuatrecasas in Portugal.
She is qualified as Portuguese and Spanish lawyer and regularly acts as legal advisor for private equity firms, funds and corporate groups in their strategic investments and divestments.
Mariana is a firm supporter of levelling the playing field and achieving gender parity and is an officer of the Women Lawyers Committee of the International Bar Association. She was the co-founder of the Women in Business (WiB) program in Cuatrecasas.

Mariana was distinguished as Harlan Stone Fisk Scholar by Columbia Law School. In 2013, received the '40 under 40' award, granted by Iberian Lawyer to the top 40 lawyers under 40 years of age on the Iberian Peninsula. Distinguished by Expansión in 2015 as one of the most active M&A lawyers in Spain, by IFLRIOOO in 2021 as Women Leader and by Iberian Lawyer, in 2021, in the top 60 business lawyers and in 2017, 2018 and 2024, in its InspiraLAw list, for women in the legal sector, and more recently as top 20 lawyers in Portugal for 2024 as "rainmaker".
