Biography

Marlen is Partner and Head of the Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation department at RocaJunyent and a Member of the firm's Board of Directors. She has an extensive international career as a dispute resolution expert. She is President of the Madrid Business Mediation Center and Co - President of the ADR Section of the Madrid Bar Association. She is also the Founder and President of Women in a Legal World. She holds executive positions in the Council of European Lawyers, is Secretary of the Royal Academy of Spanish Jurisprudence and Legislation (Ibero-American Section) as well as being a member of the advisory board of universities, arbitration tribunals and Endeavor. She teaches arbitration and mediation at IE University, Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Universidad Carlos III and Universidad Politécnica, among others. She is the author of several publications. She studied Law and Business Administration in ICADE and Switzerland. She has completed the Advanced Management Program at Esade, the Advanced Management Program at Wharton and the Global Leadership Program at Harvard (granted with a scholarship from the Rafael del Pino Foundation). She has been chosen by El Mundo as one of the Top 10 most influential Spanish lawyers, by Economist and Jurist as one of the Top 20 most relevant women lawyers in Spain, by Mujeres & Cía as one of the Top 100 leading women in Spain, and by El Mundo - Yo Dona as one of the Top 500 most outstanding women in Spain (2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023). Elected in the Top 50 of InspiraLaw in Spain and Portugal since 2018 until now and awarded "Forty under 40" by Iberian Lawyer. She has also been selected as a leading lawyer in her field by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Leaders League and Best Lawyers. She was awarded the Barakah Mediation Prize by the Valladolid Chamber of Commerce 2023.
