Biography

Dr Miša Zgonec-Rožej is currently a Legal Officer at the International Criminal Court and a Slovenian Member at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. She was formerly an Associate Fellow in international law at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London; a Senior Counsellor in London based law firm Lindeborg – Counsellors at Law; a Legal Advisor in the international justice team at Amnesty International’s Secretariat in London; an Associate Legal Officer in the Chambers of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia; a Legal Assistant to the former President of the International Court of Justice, Judge Shi, and the former Vice-President of the Court, Judge Al-Khasawneh. She was a Teaching Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. She holds a PhD (2006) and a Master’s Degree (2002) in international law from the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, and an LL.M. (2003) from Columbia University School of Law, New York. She is the author of several articles and manuals, including the International Bar Association’s manual on international criminal law.
