A webinar presented by the IBA Rule of Law Forum, supported by the IBA Human Rights Law Committee and the IBA Judges' Forum.

Many international lawyers have noted increasing limits on freedom of speech, association, and expression around the world over the past few years, coinciding in some countries with a rise in authoritarian measures. The experts in this webinar will discuss their views of how such limitations have developed in different parts of the world; the gap between international and domestic laws on freedom of expression; and how democratic states may better safeguard and promote the right.
