Goal 1 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aims to end poverty in all its forms everywhere by 2030. Despite global progress, however, an estimated 575 million people still live in extreme poverty, underscoring the urgent need for continued and enhanced efforts to achieve this ambitious goal. In light of these ongoing challenges, this webinar will explore how international legal frameworks, institutions and multilateral agreements play a pivotal role in the eradication of poverty. The conversation will explore the mechanisms through which global governance and law can create effective pathways to poverty alleviation, emphasising the significant legal tools and strategies required to accelerate progress toward realising Goal 1 of the SDGs.
