IBAHRI written statement on the Obligation to Mobilise Resources - Human Rights Council 37th Session

On 2 February, the International Bar Associations Human Rights Institute submitted the finding and recommendations from its report The Obligation to Mobilise Resources: Bridging Human Rights, Sustainable Development Goals, and Economic and Fiscal Policies in support of the recommendations and analysis made by the Independent Expert on foreign debt which assesses the human rights impact of economic reform. 

The statement highlighted the need for the realisation of human rights to be a key consideration when distributing resources and the importance of prioritising domestic over international forms of resource mobilisation.
