1. How did you get into the law/your area of practice? Why did you become a lawyer?
At university, as an assistant to a prestigious maritime law professor and lawyer. Since I recall, I always wanted to be a lawyer.

2. If you were not a lawyer, what would you do?
I would probably be a writer.

3. What advice would you give to someone new to your area of practice/your jurisdiction/being a lawyer?
Be curious, rigorous and enjoy it!

4. What area of your work do you enjoy the most/the least?
Wet shipping, no doubt. Administrative law the least.

5. What are the current challenges facing your area of practice?
Geopolitical instability, global economic uncertainty, cybersecurity threats…

6. What has been the biggest challenge of your career? How did you overcome it?
Being a maritime lawyer in the late 90s (as a woman). With determination. Now I'm able to help other women and young lawyers.

7. If you could put together a wish list of changes you would bring about in the profession, or to your area of practice, what would you include?
Improving dispute resolution mechanisms in maritime law.

8. What do you do in your free time? How do you relax?
I do sports: skiing, cycling, sailing, yoga; I love music and reading; being with friends!
