We are delighted to welcome you to this special edition of the IBA Arbitration Committee newsletter, which celebrates 25 years of Annual IBA Arbitration Days.

In recognition of that milestone, this edition of the newsletter draws on the knowledge and expertise of chairs and co-chairs of past IBA Arbitration Days, who have authored articles related to the themes of the events that they chaired. As you will see, the topics of those past IBA Arbitration Days remain as relevant as ever.

We hope that the various articles of the newsletter provide our members and the international arbitration community at large with valuable insights into the recent development of arbitration, and that the newsletter might facilitate a glimpse into what the future may hold for all of us.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all contributors – both for their contributions to the newsletters and to the success of the IBA Arbitration Days – and to the editors and the Editorial Board for their dedication in bringing this special edition to life.

We are hopeful that the IBA Arbitration Day will continue to thrive as a forum for insightful discussions on trends, challenges and developments in international arbitration and we look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming IBA Annual Conference in Mexico City and, thereafter, at the 26th Annual IBA Arbitration Day in London on 3-4 April 2025.
