Rotimi Ogunyemi
Biography
Rotimi Ogunyemi is a Nigerian technology lawyer and Partner at BOC Legal, where he leads the Emerging Technology Practice. With more than 20 years of commercial legal experience, his work focuses on AI governance, data governance, cybersecurity regulation, critical digital infrastructure and technology policy across Africa. He is one of the advisers to Nigeria’s National AI Trust, contributing in an informal capacity to its legal and institutional design, governance, independence, funding and accountability. He also advises clients, including Nigeria’s technology-sector regulator, on technology regulation and emerging-technology compliance. Rotimi is an Executive Committee member of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law and formerly chaired its Technology Committee. He has served as a facilitator for the International Telecommunication Union and as adjunct faculty at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Bridge Institute. He is also a member of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria’s National Technical Committee on Digitally Delivered Services/Trade. He contributes to the Global Blockchain Business Council’s GSMI 7.0 AI/Agentic and Blockchain Working Group, focusing on agentic accountability and governance
