Jin Mo Yang

Biography

Jinmo Yang is a tax lawyer at Yulchon LLC and is currently a Visiting Legal Professional with DLA Piper’s tax practice in New York. His practice focuses primarily on tax litigation and administrative tax disputes, while also encompassing tax advisory work, M&A and general corporate matters. He has represented taxpayers in more than 100 tax disputes, ranging from proceedings before Korea’s National Tax Service and the Korean Tax Tribunal to litigation before Korean courts at every level, including the Supreme Court of Korea, and has secured favourable outcomes in many of them. His tax controversy work spans a broad spectrum of Korean taxes, including corporate income tax and value-added tax, and extends to transfer pricing and other cross-border tax disputes. He advises Korean-headquartered multinational groups and foreign multinationals on Korean and cross-border tax matters and represents them in related proceedings. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on Korean tax law and tax litigation. He earned his LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where his academic work focused on international taxation and multilateral tax reform. He is admitted to practice in Korea.
