Biography

Ivo Hux an independent non-executive director specialising in insurance and reinsurance. He is currently a board member of a Swiss reinsurance company and a Luxembourg based non-life insurer. Before, he was sitting on various boards in reinsurance and insurance companies in France, Switzerland and Luxembourg, in the board of an investment fund and an insurance broker. He spent most of his career with a large global reinsurer and was based in Zurich, Paris and Luxembourg, leading market teams in Eastern as well as in Western Europe before managing the company’s European hub in Luxembourg as CEO, Managing Director and member of the EMEA leadership team. He also served as interim CEO for a Swiss life insurance group recently. He is known for his broad and deep knowledge of the insurance business across the value chain and his focus on governance, risk and regulatory aspects. Ivo Hux was a member of the board of various industry bodies in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, and a member of regulatory advisory committees for the Luxembourgish regulator. He holds a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a certified INSEAD board member.
