Biography

Omar Puertas-Álvarez is Legal Industry Principal at Harvey, the leading domain-specific AI platform for legal professionals. Based in Madrid, he advises general counsel, heads of legal operations, and law firm leaders across EMEA on how generative AI is reshaping the delivery of legal services. Omar joined Harvey in 2026 after 25 years at Cuatrecasas, where he was an equity partner in the International Arbitration practice and served as Managing Partner of the firm's Shanghai office. He acted as counsel and arbitrator in complex cross-border disputes across Europe and Asia, with particular focus on construction, energy, and commercial matters involving Spanish, Chinese, and common-law jurisdictions. He began his career at Skadden, Arps in New York.
