Biography
Maricarmen Plata is a Partner at Anzola Robles & Asociados in Panama City, advising on private client matters, international commercial law, corporate governance, and mediation. Her career spans more than two decades across private practice and international public service. From 2021 to 2025, she served as Secretary for Access to Rights and Equity at the Organization of American States (OAS), overseeing initiatives promoting inclusion, civil society participation, and access to justice across the Americas, and participating in electoral observation and mediation missions. Her governance roles have included board positions with Asociación Directoras de Panamá (ADP), Women in the Profession (WIP), and the Museo de la Libertad y los Derechos Humanos, as well as participation in the Panamanian Gender Parity Initiative. She has been recognized in the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards (Central America).
