Biography

Carolin Gardner is a Head of Unit at the European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), where she leads the development of the common methodology for the EU AML/CFT supervisory system. The EU AML/CFT supervisory system comprises AMLA and national AML/CFT supervisors across both the financial and non-financial sectors. Prior to joining AMLA, Carolin served as Head of AML/CFT at the European Banking Authority (EBA), where she played a key role in strengthening the EU's AML/CFT framework and supervisory practices. She also held senior anti-financial crime roles at the UK Financial Conduct Authority and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority, and at Transparency International, the global anti-corruption charity.
